1. Routine testing- Make sure it works properly once a month, particularly the open/close limit and the motion sensor. 2. Educate children- It is important to make sure children understand emergency garage door safety. They need to know it is not a toy and to steer clear of it when it is in operation. 3. Install emergency release- We take for granted that when we push the button that it will rise. What happens when the power is out? If it doesn’t come with one, make sure to install an emergency release kit so you can open it from the outside when the power is out. A pulley system unhooks the electric opener so you can do it manually.
