Our Electric Bill Was Astronomical

My husband and I bought an older house several years ago knowing that it would eventually need repairs on just about every part of the house. When we got our electric bill back this month it was over four hundred dollars, we called the electric company thinking surely it must be a mistake. They told us there was no mistake and we should probably call someone who could take a look at our insulation. When the guy came out to look at the insulation he told us we should have an energy barrier installed to help block the heat from escaping the house, which would in turn make the heater run less.
