Is The Cause a Virus?

I love my laptop computer. It makes working from home so much easier to do. I do not have to be saddled to my desk. I can take my work all over the house. Unfortunately, the past week has been full of me trying to find ways to speed laptop up. I think that I might have a virus. None of the normal tricks have worked. I have antivirus software on my laptop but it does not show any viruses. But the way that my laptop suddenly stopped running fast makes me think it is a virus. I am also going to check for malware.
