With laboratory design work, there are certain procedures that should be adhered to such as proper airflow and ventilation, some type of monitoring/alarm system in case of a fire or hazardous leak, proper maintenance, and etc. Most of these requirements are required to ensure the safety of others, as well as the equipment. Lab designers should be knowledgeable about all standard requirements and are obligated to assure the safety of the workers.
