Unknown by most people, is the fact that electric engines have been around for as long as our common engines.
Incredibly, the first electric powered car was created in the 1830s.
Petrol engines were not always as dominant as they are now, electric engines for years actually held many land speed records.
In 1899, a man called Camille Jenatzy created a record of breaking the 100 km/h barrier.
Electric based cars were competing with their rival of petroleum powered cars all the way to up to the nineteen twenties.
So, if they were working so well, what led them to being removed from the market?
Don’t want to be too cynical, but unfortunately the main reason for this is probably greed and corruption.
